Top 10 Mother’s Day Shrink Wrap Decorative Vase Sleeves
We found you our Top 10 Shrink Wrap Decorative Vase Sleeves for mother’s day and hope you are able to find something you like. Floral.today went through all the mom’s close to us and found a vase sleeve for each individual taste and personality. It never hurts to have a holiday specific vase sleeve but those that can carry into the rest of the year are what we think makes the difference in the success of a sleeve.
Modern Design in Pop Art Cats FMC 3046 Product Used: Free Spirit Roses, Small Monstera Leaves, Steel Grass, Bright Green Dyed Moss, Oasis Foam
Pop Art Cats FMC 3046
Everybody at Floral.today is absolutely in love with Pop Art Cats. As Garrett’s mom now has Toby, her ‘Pet Child’, since his siblings and him have moved out we went straight to this one. This is for the mom that is of a new generation, she is all about the fun and quirky or an animal lover. The great thing about this sleeve is it’s versatility with color, season, or design. What do you think of the Pop Art Cats Sleeve?
Fun Circles FMC 3019
The Fun Circles sleeve made it into the top ten due to it’s versatility again. With the pastel colors but interesting design this sleeve can be used for traditional everyday, multiple holidays, and multiple personalities. Floral.today see this as a quite, traditional mom that enjoys a slightly unique design but still traditional colors so it isn’t to crazy or overwhelming.
Camo Pink FMC 3012
To be completely honest most of us here at floral.today were like hmmmm when first had seen this vase sleeve and then with less than five seconds of discussing it we went straight to Garrett’s sister Kayla and multiple of our floral designers in the industry that love hunting and the sort. Kayla has been in the military and runs a top of the line tactical arms company and as a new mom we instantly new she would love this. The second person we thought of was one of our Floral.today aunts that will be having this pink camo placed throughout her wedding. With the large variety of vases, the Camo Pink sleeve shows you can find about anything for your area or your type of consumers.

How to Apply a Shrink Wrap Decorative Vase Sleeve
The owners of Florist Mercantile Company and minds behind the Shrink Wrap Decorative Vase Sleeve are Joe Colvin and Daniel Hastings of Houston, TX. After spending 24+ years developing products for the Floral and Home and Garden Industries, Joe and Daniel were sick of the headaches and started their quest to create their own product.
One the quest of creating their own products they focused on some keys aspects to their products and that was as American-Made as possible, something specifically for the floral industry and above all a high quality product to meet the standards of what florist want. Some of Floral.today’s favorite Valentine’s Day Vase Wraps.
One of Floral.today’s top Valentine’s Day Vase Wrap ‘LOVE’ FMC 3032. The layered hearts give us a fluffy/pillowy feel.
One of Floral.today’s top Valentine’s Day Vase Wrap Cluster Hearts FMC 3118. Each heart gives of a nice metallic sheen on a solid white background.
Of the whole Valentine’s Day collection we only dismissed two out of them all due to simple things such as font choice or for being to busy and in our opinion taking to much away from the overall arrangement. That said you can find so many out of the collection that our personal two we didn’t prefer shouldn’t affect the over all collection or your personal choices.
As of right now the wraps can be purchased in packs but the great thing is you can order them mixed or as a pack of one type. Here is the break down of the pricing.

When was the last time you took the time to sit and evaluate your business? That’s exactly what we did at the 2015 Canadian Florist Business Forum and it was a great day of networking and great business presentations shown in attention grabbing ways.
Most floral business owners usually sigh and avoid business presentations since they instantly think it’s going to be boring and way to unexciting but the Canadian Florist Magazine does a great job providing speakers that can take business programs and have a little fun with it or present it in a way that gets you excited to try their suggestions in your own business. This year had Star Wars and flying oranges all while having amazing business building information being presented. So we hope you enjoy some tidbits from our fun floral adventure to Mississauga, ON for the 2015 Canadian Florist Business Forum!
Attendees during a networking break between speakers.
Farm To Canada wasn’t just showing off their amazing hydrangeas and organic roses but also giving away a box of these amazing hydrangeas to one lucky attendee! Next to the organic roses we were living for the amazing mixed tropical bouquets, especially the tropical bouquet with miniature bananas.
Neville MacKay designed for Smithers-Oasis throughout the breaks and lunch to showcase different Smithers-Oasis products with interesting ways to use or manipulate them.
Neville MacKay took the time to discuss all the Smithers-Oasis products and hand out a few sample for attendees to get familiar with.
One of the amazing pieces from the Staallduinen Floral booth showing off dutch flowers. We enjoyed the depth and texture throughout the whole design.
The Floral Express setting up their booth with some great mixed bouquets.
Floral.today had a great time at this years Canadian Florist Business Forum and truly enjoyed doing our presentation on “SOCIAL MEDIA FOR THE BUSY FLOWER SHOP”. We took away a better understand about search engine marketing from Ryan Freeman of Strider Search MarketingandFlorist 2.0‘s fun Star Wars themed presentation, know more about risk management in the work place from the informative talk by Pete Karageorgos from the Insurance Bureau of Canada and got a way better understanding of plant care and maintenance all while catching oranges if you answered a question correctly (Mr. Daum is from Florida) with Steven Daum of Floralife and Superflor Technologies. Once we have it done for the website we will post our presentation from the forum so watch for it and make sure to plan to be at this fantastic and though provoking event that is the Canadian Florist Business Forum.
Thank you to the Canadian Florist Magazine and their staff for including Floral.today’s Garrett as one of their speakers for this awesome event. Also a huge thank you to Floral.today follower Rita Quayle of Flower Workshop for taking me on a floral adventure to the flower auction, her wonderful wholesaler and her shop. A super thank you also to Rita and her staff for creating me flowers to wear for my presentation as we are flower people and should take every opportunity to wear them when we can. My last thank you is to Joseph Delarge for showing us the beautiful city of Toronto and his amazing shop Eco|Stems. Check the Floral.today Facebook for all the photos from our adventures!
What a week for starting off the new year with amazing inspiration! Check out some of these fantastic youtube videos filled with floral inspiration, education and great design goal makers.
Who couldn’t love all the amazing designs done at the 2015 Rose Bowl Parade? For those that didn’t have friends working on the floats, luckily you have J Schwanke of UBloom.com to take you on an up-close and personal tour of the Kit Cat’s American Grown float this year!
Some our favorite things we took away from the video.
– The amount of people willing to volunteer at an event such as this.
– The unwavering support that American companies can show to each other.
– Large-scale design doesn’t just have to be big ball arrangements or tons of product just thrown on top of each other en masse.
Who doesn’t get excited when they see the words Hitomi Gilliam along with Mechanics and Techniques? Hitomi has us follow along as on her journey of transparency with florals. We are learning a unique way of creating an armature with flow, depth and texture using a limited amount of product in an very high impacting way.
Our favorite parts!
– “Let it happen naturally” Being someone that doesn’t love the mass design or ball of flowers, this is will be on repeat in our heads when it comes to our designs now.
– Using flowers and not just willow or branches for the armature structure creates more interest and tests the limits of a flower’s ability.
– Proper proportions to create the illusion of designing in stones.
– Enhancing florals that have hardier blooms such as crespedia to create greater interest.
– Knowing proper elements and principles of designs to elevate your designs into something above the basic everyday design.
What a start for the 2015 Mayesh Design StarBeth O’Reilly! Nothing is better than a fresh take on a mass design and Beth gives the anything-but-interesting mass design a fun and intriguing upgrade with this 2-D floral framed sculpture.
What we learned the most.
– The importance of depth and texture, especially in a 2-D design.
– Some older mechanics such as chicken wire are still the best and you can’t go very far without good mechanics.
– Using high quality product is key to a successful design such as the Mayesh Awesome Blossoms.
– Don’t fear going to the hardware store and being inspired with new tools and hardgoods.
– Schedule to attend the Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition next year for inspiration and even more floral exploration!
– Don’t be afraid to take a few cuttings from the plants in your shop.
– Using proper and professional design terms and names elevates your design and creates a higher valued design.
– Find value in your foliages and use them as more than a foam cover.
What has already inspired you in the new year? Make sure to share your thoughts with us about these videos and tell us what inspired you. Also make sure to go show all these designers your support and subscribe to their channels to be updated when they post more amazing videos. We here at Floral.today hope your year is starting off with a bang and you are working hard towards your floral resolutions!
What are their goals and hopes for the future of their products?
How does this change the playing field for floral foam and organic floral products for the future?
We had the pleasure to attend the Floral Soil Solutions Webinar December 9th with the CEO/Founder Mikey Blake and moderated by Outdoor Living Expert, Debra Prinzing. It was great to be invited to see where this product is going and what their future plans are for the floral industry and organic, natural products. Floral Soil Solution is the new kid on the block that is developing 100% natural plant based floral soil, hard foam and containers. This is not the first time that someone has brought a product such as this to the industry but this is the first time it’s near perfect.
Floral Soil
Nontoxic
100% Plant Based
USDA Certified Organic & Biobased
100% Traceable
Able to Propagate Seed and Plant
Goals
Safe enough to eat
Nontoxic
Bio Based
Biodegradable
Grow Seed
Hold Water
Design for the next life first
Restorative after disposal
Circular Life Cycle
What That All Means
Nontoxic– Human, Environmental and Global recognized to only contain plant products.
100% Plant Based –Created out of coconut husk and renewable plant extracts
USDA Certified Organic and Biobased–100% Naturally based, Meets all EPA requirements
100% Traceable – You can follow the life the produce from start to finish to start again with a Circular Life Cycle or a IERE Life Cycle Assessment from start of product extraction to recycling and waste management.
Propragatable – Seeds and plants can be planted into the product and grow from it.
Under Development
Natural Dry Flower Foam – To create silk, artificial and permanent botanical arrangements. Mickey and her team are working on this product to be 100% naturally based and on the same lines of their new floral soil.
100% Plant Containers US & EU Certified Biodegradable & Compostable Containers – The title says it all, a container that floral.today thinks is going to be able to fit the Circular Life Cycle and most definitely the IERE Life Cycle. A plant based container line that will be 100% natural plant material and if your customer tosses it, the container will not take 100% to break down.
Our Final Thoughts
Competition – In a part of the industry that has a strong floral foam oligopoly, it’s refreshing to see a new kid on the block bring something new to the stage of floral containers and foam. I will always use Smithers-Oasis and Chrysal because they have other great products but as the world is always looking for the next best thing I think it’s time for this new floral soil to come into the industry and impress us.
Organic and Biobased – Knowing florists that have respiratory issues and other major health issues, the use of Black Carbons, Barium Sulfates, and Formaldehyde on any level used in floral foams makes us weary. Not only does it give the industry a healthier option, it also pushes the other floral industry providers to up their game in make our industry cleaner and healthier.
What’s Not to Love – Floral Soil Solutions has a Design Competition running right now to showcase you the designers and to let the industry not just experience this new product but also play with it to help them find what you the designer think needs to be changed or adjusted. We can’t wait to get our paws on some here at floral today to see what it’s like! This product can also be used in the industry for more than just designing, so you can try planting in them to see how your willow or seeds grow.
So what do you think of this new soil? You can always check out the Floral Soil Solutions website to see floral designs and a ton more information on what this interesting company is up to. We look forward to trying the soil out and are intrigued by their under-development containers. Are you looking forward to what Floral Soil Solutions is doing?
Till Next Time,
